Mixed Media... Monthly Challenge

Happy Saturday..
I was very happy to be asked to participate over on ...
The challenge this month is to use STAMPS.. for my project I used Unity Stamp Company stamps.
This is a new release this week from Unity and I just fell in love with it as soon as saw it.
I just knew exactly what I wanted to create.

You can find all the details of this challenge over on the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog

Here is how I created this mixed media art piece.

Today I made a 6x6 canvas piece, this is a very new stamp just released today
by Artist and designer Suzi Blu.
I just love working with stamp images to create art canvases..

This is my process for a successful image transfer..
1. First I inked up the image ( today I used a 6x6 piece of plain computer paper)  with memento ink and colored the  image in using my  copic markers.

2. Then once finished coloring I mod podged the image onto the canvas.. you will get some wrinkles but not to worry they will be covered up with textured paste.  mod podge both underside and top of the canvas image.

3. Let it dry ( I used my heat tool to have it dry quickly..

4. Then taking any stencil I added white textured paste .. I just love featuring the stamp with a white background.. it allows the stamp image to be the focus of my project.  For this canvas I added two different stencils for texture. I let that dry and added my sentiment.

5. Now , I wanted something a little different and had a small decorative frame I picked up from Michael's awhile ago, I took the backing off and the plastic front leaving the open space.. using some foam dots and extra strong tape adhesive I stuck the frame onto the canvas to frame the girl.. I just love how it added a pop of colour and a different 3 D element.

I hope you give this a try with your Unity Stamps or any other you have on hand .
I can't wait to see what projects you come up with.
